Actinomycetologica

The official journal of the Society for Actinomycetes Japan

Outline of Actinomycetologica

Actinomycetologica is the official journal written in English of the Society for Actinomycetes of Japan (SAJ) and is published twice a year (June and December). Actinomycetologica deals with contributing papers on actinomycete researches that include taxonomy, ecology, biochemistry, genetics, metabolites and fermentation. Review papers, proceedings of symposia on actinomycetes, and a list of literatures on the above subjects will also be included.

Preparation and Submission of Contributing Papers: Original articles and Notes are acceptable. Original articles are reports (8 printed pages or less) with good scientific quality and originality that consist of Summary, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results, Discussion (Results and Discussion may be combined) and References in order. Notes are short experimental reports (4 pages or less) with experimental details.

All of these contributions should be written in understandable English and typed in double space. Each of tables, figures and photographs should have good quality and should be placed on separate pages. Redrawing and color figures will be charged on a cost basis. The detailed form and style of manuscript were exemplified in current issues, which could be downloadable from the left column in this page. For submission of a Review article, please contact one of the Editorial Board members first.

Upon submission, the following two PDF files should be submitted to the Editorial Board (actinomycetologica@lisci.kitasato-u.ac.jp) as attachment files of E-mail:

  • Invoice file indicating (1) mailing date, (2) title of the paper, (3) authors and affiliation, (4) corresponding author and address, (5) type of article, (6) total pages except tables and figures, (7) numbers of tables and figures.
  • A single file of complete manuscript (Title page, Abstract, Text body, References, Figure legends, Tables, and Figures. Put all elements in correct order).

The maximum size of each file should not exceed 5 MB. Submission of original electric files, such as Microsoft Word format for text and EPS, TIFF, and JPEG formats for images, is also requested when manuscripts are accepted. If you have any technical questions, please contact the Editorial Board (actinomycetologica@lisci.kitasato-u.ac.jp).

Submitted papers are reviewed by two Editorial Board members within one month after submission. Upon request, reprints may be provided on a cost basis.
