From the beginning of 2012/13 season (from week 36/September of 2012 to week 35/August of 2013), isolations/detections of influenza virus AH3 was dominantly reported and the report increased from week 47 (November 19-25) (Fig. 1). In the 2012/13 season, from week 36 (September 3-9, 2012) to week 3 (January 14-20, 2013), isolations/detections of AH1pdm09 from 25 cases in 12 prefectures, AH3 from 515 cases in 40 prefectures, B/Victoria lineage from 21 cases in 4 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from 16 cases in 6 prefectures and B/lineage not determined from 9 cases in 7 prefectures were reported (Fig. 2). |

During five weeks from week 50 of 2012 to week 2 of 2013, isolations/detections of AH1pdm09 from 10 cases in 4 prefectures, AH3 from 266 cases in 31 prefectures, B/Victoria lineage from 8 cases in 3 prefectures, B/Yamagata lineage from 6 cases in 4 prefectures and B/lineage not determined from 4 cases in 3 prefectures were reported (Fig. 3).
